Dr. Cordero offers individual therapy in Spanish and English. She specializes in working with individuals who have experienced interpersonal violence and those impacted by various types of anxiety, such as panic attacks. She strives to support individuals through the fear and isolation one can experience after a traumatic event. Common symptoms can include shame and guilt, insomnia, nightmares, intimacy and trust issues, as well flashbacks and avoidance. She integrates various theoretical orientations and approaches to develop a culturally appropriate treatment plan for each individual. She has specialized training in Somatic Experiencing, Play Therapy, TF-CBT, as well as yoga and mindfulness-based therapies.
She offers a holistic approach in helping her clients reestablish a healthy relationship to themselves, their bodies, and the communities that support them. Her areas of specialty include culturally sensitive treatment approaches for trauma and various issues including anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, relationships, identity development, spiritual/religious concerns and/or exploration. She also focuses and is commited to working with the LGBTQ+ community.
